Why do people upload photos of what they eat?


May you read this well.

I have been perplexed by some parties who uploads almost every pictures of their meal on facebook. And dare I say that they are always Singaporeans. Have we turned food into an obsession?

Well, judging from the size of land we have, lack of time for ourselves these days and the introduction of joints offering the world's cuisine (minus the African continent), food does provide our souls. So here's my part of the deal to my own soul ;)


At 10 bucks a pop, it had to taste nice. And it was! This was at an indian restaurant somewhere outside of the city. The spices really did a bloody good job for a cold evening.

Regardless, I think I will be enjoying a few more beryanis when I get home. Yes, home is beckoning for the E`id celebrations! Got my flight tix sometime last week and I'm looking forward to reuniting with families and friends.

Dirt tracks & country roads

May you read this well. Dad's been here for more than a month now, 'looking after' me and providing companionship to the gastro specialist. Appreciate the dishes he cooked (tried to), and with the household chores. But above all, it's fantastic to travel with a buddy who knows you very well. Which I have been doing so a lot this week. First it was at work; Roxby Down receive her water supply from the Great Artesian Basin . However, it has to be pumped almost 300 kilometres from the point of extraction. Thus, there are a few pumping stations dotting the supply line to keep the pressure and flow somewhat constant. And one of those stations decided to shut itself down early this week. Fortunately, this particular facility is located halfway to the start, near to the historic town (now almost desolated) of Marree . In this day and age of information, be it through mainstream news or otherwise, the ability to read and write does not suffice to block out false information nor half-truths. The ability to think critically, filter and comprehend a complete story requires a certain skillset.
